Finally, how we are going to exit Somalia as KDF

According to retired general Mwathethe’s recently launched KDF War for Peace Kenya’s Military in the African Mission in Somalia, 2012-2020 ,this is how we gonna exit Somalia aka Jubaland:

1.Reforms in the Somali National Army and enabling the country’s security forces to lead operations towards sustainable peace. A base has been established at Dhobley for SNA,currently also acting as a FOB for KDF.

2.Creating a stable, peaceful and prosperous Jubbaland as a corridor free of al-Shabaab .Why just Jubaland?Because that was part of Kenya before the Anglo Italian treaty of 1925 or 1927,besides being directly related to Kenyan Somalis,so we take care of our own just like how USA was forced into the politics of world wars,if Jubaland is prosperous Kenya prosperous.“This will involve securing routes in Jubbaland accessible to and used by al-Shabaab, including areas in Jilib, the roads to Kenyan border points (Liboi, El-Wak, Mandera, Gherille and Boni forest) and Indian Ocean ports of Ras Kamboni, Kuday, Kismayu and Barawe,” Border points like Malaba and Moyale to be established.

3.The third pillar is having a comprehensive management control system to secure the Kenya-Somalia border, a process that will involve “surveillance, trenches, roads and chain-link fences”.Proposals include opening immigration offices at major entry points in Mandera, El-Wak, Gherille, Liboi, Kolbio and Kiunga.

4.The fourth encompasses strengthening the operations of multi-agency command and control centres in Nairobi, Mombasa, Wajir, Moyale, Busia, Namanga, Lamu and Lokichoggio. This will involve enhancing intelligence and security operations.

5.The fifth pillar involves partnerships through strengthening the agreement involving Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia on common security concerns and agenda. It also involves enhancing collective security by involving neighbours in the Horn of Africa through the Inter-Governmental Authority for Development and the East African Community

Meanwhile, the agreement brokered between Jubaland political factions is a game changer that has rattled Mogadishu to an extent of using Ethiopians non AMISOM troops to down a Kenyan plane while frustrating Jubaland leaders.Nway,we shall overcome and Jubalanders lwill be proud to be part of somalia…

You will exit heads down, tail between legs, without offshore oil blocks.

Not that we are defenseless, just like the ICC cases where we had dissenting opinion which later was proved right,we do have 3 dissenting jugdes,I trust a miracle will humble some people,it’s just this June

Maritime Delimitation in the Indian Ocean (Somalia v. Kenya)

PM Ably of Ethiopia doesn’t control the military operations in Somali. That’s the problem. The military brass there are acting on their own interests and he is mostly pacifying them instead of full direct control of their actions. Hiyo pesa ya border fence ilikulwa at harambee house. 30 billion went into various state actors led by super’s cs, ps, advisors etc.

wherever it went, the Kenyan Somali and any other Kenyan wants a peaceful Jubaland, that will be achieved considering the high number of new ranchers even foreigners in N.E Kenya, despite this Betting - we will win

Kenyan Somali wepi hao? How sure are we wengi wao si kama huyu mwarabu mwitu anaitwa @Slave 0wner ?

hayuko kwa ground, people on the ground are despised by the rest of Somalia,in some areas like the South West state even the government has the audacity to decide which culture you embrace and which not to,like the Barawe, why tell them they cant have a radio station broadcasting in Barawe language…nothern swahili dialect?

We should leave Zoomalia physically but still tukuwe na indirect influence huko. Kutoka tu ivo haifai.

Thats why we had the Nairobi agreement,Madobe will not vie next time, whoever vies has our interests at heart besides Jubaland interests, our support to them.

The Somali problem is complicated, it can take a whole voluminous report here to explain it all. However we are wiser now.

First of all the idea of big ranches owned by foreigners or non Kenyans in the north is a ticking time bomb. The experience of Laikipia should never be replicated anywhere. Government should station Kenya Forest rangers, KWS or KDF in those community lands and ranches.

On the topic.

 1. alshabab have support across the entire structure of Somali community. From villages, local leaders, politicians, businessmen who pay taxes to them, Somali police, Somali army, somali Intel whom we trained and villa Somali itself in Mogadishu. They get funding, Intel, fighters, food, arms etc across the board. They all pretend to fight them. That is why the most successful operations against them succeeded if the info is limited to Anisom, Kenyan troops. They have shown many times they get advance warning of attacks but share it late.

 2. The border fence was very crucial, former Gen Karangi knew our porous border makes it hard to patrol. 2000 kms of unhindered entry including the south which has the vast Boni Forest that is 100 kms into Somali and Lamu area. They enter through their side, camp at the forest for weeks before emerging in Lamu to carry out attacks. Israel signed up to help us in its build at State house when PM Netanyahu state visit in 2016. The idea was for our small budget we improvise by just making it physically a challenge to cross our border. Three trenches along the border between razor wires and fences in between. That was no vehicles can pass through unless they use designated border posts. Then the sequences of trenches, obstacles and fences makes it hard for even trained soldiers to pass. Those that do will have suffered life threatening injuries in unforgiving wilderness and will need medical assistance let alone be well enough to carry attacks. Unfortunately that money is now eaten.

 3. Jubaland administration is our best bet for Somali. Let’s build its forces fighting capacity, intelligence, equipment and active patrols. Only locals in Somali can defeat an insurgency. Two, build clan support for Jubaland in the north as it is in the south. Our carrot is trade with Northern Counties of Kenya.

The rest will follow.

Station kdf on community land to protect who?

Number 1 alone will take decades. SNA soldiers only know how to field strip AKs and PKMs and their ‘police’ hahaha, just local warlords with the most support in the community. They don’t have an air force or a navy either so they have a LOOOOOONG way to go before they can take care of themselves in the manner that we want them to. Realistically Kenya will have a military footprint in Somalia for at least another ten years but it could be double or triple that. Look at the US military, been in the Middle East since the 90s and they’re still there today trying to reform Afghan and Iraqi security forces. True institutional changes take time, trust and cooperation not to mention a lot of money and manpower.

As for the clan rivalries between Somalis I really don’t know how that will be resolved. Senior military commanders and intelligence operatives will continue to be assassinated by rival clan members if they don’t lock that shit down.

Terrorism is designed to be an intractable problem. It is a time honoured tool of geo political strategy…Until the Somalis decide they want peace badly enough and act on it…the situation is hopeless. One cannot impose order. Order is organic.

This is a war we will never win
