It’s not a storybook. The Bible is the living, breathing Word of God.
Everything that’s happening doesn’t come as a surprise to Christians because it was all prophesied. Wars, earthquakes, pestilence, hatred, misery, poverty and famine etc. We have been waiting for this moment for millennia.
We know that these are the end times because of where Israel is. She’s been a country for close to 80 years now, yet Christ Himself said in Matthew 24 that the generation which witnesses Israel becoming a nation will not pass away before He returns.
It’s only going to get worse moving forward. Hell is on the earth and the Bride of Jesus is getting ready to leave this earth in the Rapture. Hallelujah!
