Another week. Another woman dead. Another man who couldn’t handle being dumped.
A Nigerian man pleaded guilty this week to killing his ex.
Not his wife. Not his partner.
His ex.
A woman who had already chosen to walk away.
Let’s call this thing by its real name…
This wasn’t love.
It wasn’t heartbreak.
It wasn’t “she provoked him.”
It was entitlement.
Too many men are raised to believe women are possessions, not people. So when a woman leaves, they don’t see a breakup, they see rebellion. Loss of control. Public humiliation. And instead of healing, they reach for violence.
And society plays along.
What did she do?
Why didn’t she leave quietly?
Why didn’t she manage his emotions better?
Funny how we always interrogate the woman but never the male ego that thinks rejection deserves punishment.
If being dumped makes you violent, you were never in love.
If rejection makes you murderous, you were never safe.
If a woman choosing peace threatens your sanity, you need therapy, not a relationship.
Women are not emotional punching bags.
They are not rehab centres for damaged men.
And they should not have to die for saying “I’m done.”
Leaving is not a crime.
Rejection is not violence.
But entitlement is dangerous.
Rest in peace to her.
And…
May the rest of the male population learn that…
Breaking up is not violence.
Rejection is not abuse.
But male entitlement?
That one kills.
