Fellow Peasants

I have seen this in almost all informal or low income areas i have visited in my life, its not about the high sugar and flour prices its is the definition of living from hand to mouth. unapatanga vitu kama mafuta ya kukaanga ya 5, mafuta ya taa ya 10, sukari ya 15, diapers moja moja etc etc

Since @sparks alisema “Fellow peasants” lemme assume yeye hulive hand to mouth vile @Fala 12 amesema.

lakini hii topic ya peasants hufanya watu wakosane huku ktalk, people should have a positive outlook towards life hata kama umekazwa

Hata nyama by the way. Butcheries with the digital scales have an advantage in this.

The kadogo economy is real, and it helps sana. You see, a respected relative could be visiting, and with just 100 bob you are able kumwandalia mlo wa kuku, ugali na mboga, and after that a cup of tea with real milk and sugar.

One of the areas I know the gavament has failed low-earning workers miserably is the failure to enforce the minimum wage. Unapata soja with a wife and 2 kids earning 7K a month. Akilipa rent ya 1,500 can he realistically be able to buy a kilo of suga at Sh400?

Yet the company (his employer) will most likely have billed for double the amount. Sad.

salo ikichelewa huyo jamaa kwisha. For some of us who have enough buffer to cover us for at least 6 months when things get tough, ni kushukuru tu Mungu. But somoene would rather do mjengo than be employed by these security firms. Kwa mjengo you are assured of at least 3k every week kazi ikiwa.

By the way @luther, kuna ‘daktari’ flani amesema kuosha mikono haiwezi kuzuia kuenezwa kwa cholera na typhoid. I guess akienda pale Kenyatta Market akatakatiwe nyama na mtu anahara hajaoga mikono atapitia katikati yao?

:D:D:D The importance of washing hands before handling food as an infection control measure cannot be ignored
