Fake My Message App Scamming LOW IQ Traders Via Till & Paybill Transactions

This old app has been in use in Nigeria and other places for some time, now it is being used by witty Kenyans to con traders.

So this is how it goes down.

[li]A conman installs this app on their phone[/li][li]Then composes a fake message that looks like an MPESA message with even the correct Business name, time, Amount paid, A Mpesa Balance etc[/li][li]Exectes the send process on the App and it appears in phones SMS Inbox with Sender being MPESA[/li][li]Shows the shop attendant the Fake message and says that there is a delay on the reply and they are always on a hurry to leave with the goods.[/li][/ol]

Well, if the attendant gets conned this way its their fault. Personally, I dont even show the messages. I wait for them to confirm on their end.

Hii Kitu kitambo ilikuwa poa Sana. 2017 nimeenda thika clubbing, naingia club porkies naona waitress wanakaa Mungich za ocha, I ordered drinks za 1200 waitress akaitisha message ya mpesa akacopy transaction code, nikatulia kitu 5 mins mzinga kwa jacket nikaenda zangu. During Covid time nilitumia kufake message ya MOH kwamba nimepewa first dosage ya vaccine.
