Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, The @VPTanzania, represented Her Excellency Dr.@SuluhuSamia, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, at an Extraordinary Virtual Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). The Summit was chaired by the Interim Chairperson of SADC, His Excellency. @CyrilRamaphosa
, President of the Republic of South Africa. During the meeting, the Summit adopted a number of recommendations aimed at strengthening peace and security in the Republic of Madagascar, including a call for inclusive national dialogue to facilitate the holding of free and democratic elections. The Summit also endorsed the Republic of Zambia as the Incoming Interim Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). The Vice President was accompanied at the Summit by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Hon. Dr. Ngwaru Maghembe, and the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Said Shaib Mussa.
