Experimental Constitution

Is everyone thinking we have either a very experimental constitution, or we are too naive for it. Case in point is the current stalemate(almost) about IEBC, ballots, election wha-ifs which we dont have answers(like what would happen if we dont have elections on 8th Aug)?

Again, relative to our GDP, the cost of running the govt structure it creates is the most expensive in the world…na bado we are yet to implement the 1/3rd gender rule effectively, meaning we could have more representatives in the form of women to crowd that parliament further.

Plus its self-sabotaging in terms of Intergrity, coz it sets out the terms on Chapter 6(a very high values threshold by the way), yet it puts it again clearly that unless someone has exhausted their channels of appeal, they cant be barred. Thats why we had ICC-indicted guys on the ballot, and the candidates were not moved by the clamour for chapter 6 to be implemented by the IEBC.

What’s the way forward and options?

If anyone voted yes for it, they are to blame.

The katiba was more for an NGO than a country.

Most progressive…? Debatable.

I think the only emphasis was to clip the wings of the presidency, and while they did that, the drafters created so many other problems.
