[SIZE=5]There has been a considerable measure of mixed reactions about Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho’s visit to America. The radical Mombasa governor has been offering the visit as a triumph over constant allegations that he is a drug trafficker.

Joho’s office is offering the visit as evidence that he can’t be a drug trafficker, on the grounds and that in the event that he was, the Americans would not have permitted him to visit their nation. Joho’s PR office has been sharing photographs of the governor in the US bounteously.

However, insider reports show that Joho was really going to America to examine an arrangement with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) who have been asked to stand down on Joho and in turn woo him become an informer for Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on drugs dealings at the Kenyan coast.

Reports further reveal that Hassan Joho and his senior brother Abu Joho, have been under enormous pressure from their international drug business partners who are amazingly angry with the considerable effort that the Kenyan government has put on the joint worldwide drug business at the Coast, because of Governor Joho’s consistent political assaults on the President Uhuru’s administration.

One of the issues they raised was the bombing of a ship that had transported drugs by the Kenyan Defense Forces. Joho is considered responsible for the loss of the ship. However even more alarming is the fact that other shipping companies are very reluctant to transport drugs to the Kenyan coast – whatever the payment. The pressure on Joho is said to be high to the point that the Mombasa Governor has been living under intense fear that he will be executed by the cartels – as what happened to his predecessor Ibrahim Akasha. Joho has changed his security and even moved out of his home. He now lives in undisclosed locations and changing these locations after every few days.

Joho is said to have approached ODM leader who is his Party Leader, the former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga for advise on his souring predicament. This was after all his attempts to reach out to President Kenyatta through the Kenyan President’s Personal Assistant Jomo Gecaga failed to bear any fruit. Joho wanted Raila to speak to Uhuru and reduce the pressure.

However Raila, who has been getting campaign money from Joho came up with a different plan. The Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga advised Joho to cut a deal with Americans and have them reduce the pressure on his drug business, in return for information on terrorist and violent extremist activities at the Kenyan coast. Raila’s argument was that the Americans are more interested in fighting terrorism than in fighting drugs. Raila then proposed that as soon as Joho cut the deal he would negotiate to be allowed to make a public trip to America, and then use the fact that he had travelled as proof that he cannot be a drug dealer.

Joho promptly kept in touch with the Nairobi FBI office with the proposition from Raila. The FBI looked for clearance from Washington, and got it. Joho then immediately embarked on his trip to the US, with private media close behind. In any case, he needed to first travel to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to be grilled before he signed the deal. The photos of this visit were likewise dispersed by his PR office, however with an alternate clarification.

US Ambassador Bob Godec was sent to Mombasa to confirm some of information Joho had to share to prove his information was solid. Joho also travelled to the US DEA offices where they assured him they would stand down on investigations against his drug business as long as he fulfilled his obligations to the DHS. The DEA also demanded Joho reduce his drug business, and then contain it to the East African region exclusively. He must also not partner with any cartels that operate in the U.S.

However Joho is currently in quagmire how he going to fulfil his part of the deal. Extremists groups have made the Mombasa town, their place of refuge in the wake of cutting protection arrangements with local drug kingpins, led by Abu Joho, the brother Mombasa Governor and the drug kingpin of the region since Akasha died. These Islamist terrorists have been paying protection money to the Mombasa County administration to be protected from the National government Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU). Now it is time to turn against them to survive.

In any case there is a silver lining in it for Joho’s political survival. The deal with the Americans gives Joho with something to undermine Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar with who is seeking to unseat him. Omar has turned out to be a vicious competitor against Joho for the seat of Mombasa Governor.

Joho suspects that Omar is being supported by the coastal based terrorists to dislodge him from office because of the extortionist way of his administration. Omar has additionally guaranteed them to lessen protection payments if they also support him to successfully remove him.

The extremists are said additionally to consider Omar closer to their image of Islam than Joho. They additionally have an issue with how Joho’s drug business is influencing their nearby terror enlists. The leaders of the coastal based extremists have additionally been following on Joho’s American trek with a ton of anxiety.

So where is the deal. The thing is if there is evidence against Joho by the FBIi, there is no deal he will ever be able to cut. They take down heads of state , Noriega, etc. Joho , if guilty, is nothing to them.

I don’t like Joho at all but there are too many holes to be poked in this story. The long visit to the US so soon after the Akasha’s were deported there is in itself very suspect but don’t expect to get any factual information about it from our whack local media.
But to state that the US will cut a deal for Joho to continue with his drug trade in East Africa as long as he doesn’t work with drug lords who have connections to America is hogwash.
Why were the Australians then confiscating cocaine from ships in the high seas off the Kenyan coast yet it wasn’t headed their way?
Too much hollow tales in this story.

This article summarizes the joke that is 8-4-4 education system; Zero creativity. If I was to make up a story on the subject of Joho I would find a thousand ways to make it story more believable.

His trip to the US was merely to make a statement. He was saying look, they didn’t give me trouble. So that means I have done nothing wrong ( as you allege)
