What business is Equity doing to double its profit in just 12 months? Apart from the exorbitant and hidden fees and charges; and of course interest income, how did it make that money? Did it revalue its assets? Something fishy is going on here and I suspect some big people will be offloading their shareholding soon because this is how it goes
They probably reduced loan loss provisions and they have expanded alot outside KE.
Not really. Mostly deduction of loan loss provisions expected during COVID.
Equity reduced loan loss provisions by 78% from Kshs 26bn to 5.8bn. This alone frees up over 20bn.
