Fellow old school. I started supporting Man Utd in 1989 thanks to the program “the road to wembley on KBC” i admit i confused liverpool with man utd as i was watching on a black and white t.v. That season every team was under the shadow of liverpool but man utd had a magical ran on F.A cup that we won. I remember Gary Pallister, Steve Bruce as the rock of our defence and Mark Hughes as the big match scorer. That was Sir Alex first trophy as manager. in 1990 we beat the fancy Barcelona to win the coveted European winners cup and finally the league in 1992.

Barcelona was a nobody in the 90s
Barcelona had some good players back then. Kina Koeman, Hristo Stoichkov, Romario, Kluivert, etc. Though back then Seria A clubs were the kings of Europe and the Italian league had the best players in the world.
