Entitlement Mentality

In a road accident that involved a bodaboda motorist and a pedestrian, an old woman was knocked to death. The old woman was on her way to someplace where aged guys were collecting some benefits that are entitled to them.

Over the past few days, NASA politicians have been complaining over withdrawal of government vehicles and security that, like their Jubilee counterparts, they are entitled to.

Regardless of your level of income or economic class, this will kill us.
The poor will continue to be poor, just because of this mindset. They’ll never work and entitlements or hoping for them will never change their lives.

I’m not supporting or against anyone whether in the Government or the opposition, but I can’t understand why an MP, Cabinet Secretary or anyone receiving a paycheck expects their employer to do all these for them.

Bureaucrats of this nation create bridges that head to nowhere… … What does the least officer do by being in their position to put their life in jeopardy?
Entitlement to government vehicles, while those privately owned are in business generating more income to them.

The mentality of entitlement is behind all these cases.
Those on top will strangle the poor through taxes to meet their entitlements. Again, the peasants will never work to earn what they can, and they’ll continue to suffer trying to compete for what they believe is entitlement to them.

As a student, you are entitlement to government loan, okay. If the parent is in a position to fund their son’s education, I’d be prudent to reject the entitlement.

At a time like now, when the country is being run by capitalists, we need to think on what we need to be.
It may be ok for those on top, but for the middle class and poor guys, it may be worthwhile to reject the entitlements and instead think of a way to transform one’s life, for instance, how to pay less taxes.

My fren, you’re dealing with an African. He will take and take, demand and demand but give nothing and nothing.

He will eat your food and expect more. If you don’t bring more, you’re selfish. But he won’t feed you when he has.

The African is a joke. He will never ever give up an entitlement for the greater good.

Never!

I beg to differ. Student loans are offered world over, not just in Kenya. If your father is toiling and already paying taxes why not benefit from his taxes? It isn’t a freebie, you will pay back!
Same with social grants for the old>75yrs mostly…they are ENTITLED to them. We should never neglect our old people. Leaders are also entitled to some benefits too, whether opposition or government, and this is not unique to Kenya…Its a shitty situation but politicians will always exploit us, again not unique to Kenya. And you as a tax paying citizen you are entitled to a lot more…What do you think is the work of a government? Well, creating jobs and/or creating a conducive environment is also work of responsible governments…so don’t call people peasants when in actual sense opportunities are limited…Typically, we are quick to call others names once we have “made it”…we castigate graduates for being half-baked forgetting that we also needed some sort of apprenticeship to be as accomplished as we are. We call our brothers lazy/unambitious because they don’t have jobs, forgetting that we got our own jobs through the goodwill of someone else…or a combination of other factors… Kama ulifungua kabiashara na kakakubali first time and you are able to pay rent shukuru mungu, usijipige kifua, circumstances can change really fast …speaking from experience.

Okay!

Yes, student loan is your entitlement and entitlement Mentality will kill you. That’s not a way you make use of your father’s taxes, it is a way you’ll lose more to them.
You and your father need Financial Education

Social welfare is a major pillar of any modern economy.
