What happened to it’s original rotary? I’m thinking of getting an RX-8 but I know the engine is the issue. I want to put an evo or some boxer engine in it when the rotary is completely fucked up by kenyan mechs
Previous owner had grounded it coz of worn out apex seals. Had zero compression. Free tip… Wait a couple of years and you will get an RX8 dirt cheap.
Exactly my plan.
Just look underside. if it has a rear differential then it is rear wheel or four wheel.
Mimi huambia watu kama ni toyota kidogo unatafuta. tafuta body mzuri, engine ni kama mkate kwa supa.
Ktalk iko juu, juuu, juuu tu sanaaa!..BIG UPS!
Diff.
Not only small rides, a friend of mine ameweka td 27 kwa canter 2.8 and it runs perfectly.
Ahhhh?
Is it blue?
I learn a little everyday. or is it a lot?!
Yes, that one. Previously owned by that guy with some workshop with a lathe machine amongst other contraptions. Juzi nilipata hapo nikapata he was converting a pickup ya ‘half-gear’ to the kawaida one ya floor.
These modifications dont laways work well and lack longevity. Infact some are outight dangerous. A car is well balanced for the engine power, braking ability and suspension travel. That balance needs to be maintained. Always. Replace an engine with a similar one or sell the car.
really…si haja itembee…na isikusumbue?
Raining on the parade, huh!
I was following thread closely.
Kweli kapsaa.
A few weeks ago i witnessed a jeep that had given the owner hell due to engine issues sold for dirt cheap. The fellow took it to some asian garage and right now it has a prado 1kz engine na inahama kuhama …it has done Nairobi-Mombasa-Nairobi-Kisumu-Bungoma-Kitale-Nairobi as part of road test and it had no mechanical issues…So i guess with the right skills and cash of course alot is possible
Kuna mmoja hizo area za Inda ni pro.
Yes, that is why I used the words “dont always”, it may work depending on the mechanic, the type of engine and the skills employed but most are done at Grogon and the chances of getting killed by such a contraption or spending the rest of your weekends at the garage are higher than normal. There is a good reason why old and/or faulty cars are crushed and recycled by the very manufacturers…
