Engine overheating

Wadau nauliza swali.
If a car overheats Hadi inazima. You sort out the issues mad do service but you get a check engine light on.
When you drive a significant distance say 70km it starts overheating and coolant recycle back to reservoir.
Are these signs of a failing engine.
Naambiwa sijui slow knock. Needs engine replacement as definitive resolution.
Any advice? Ama maoni? Due diligence muhimu

Gari ipi? Did you bleed out the coolant system?

Tuambie gari make and model.
Ni ya mwaka gani?
Any previous related issues?
Service history?

Your query is too general for advice. Gari gani kwanza? Any previous issues? My guess from what you described is that you are a clueless driver who makes his circumstances worse by visiting roadside garages manned by clueless fellows. Try to give more information tuone vile utasaidika.

Impreza 2005. No previous issues other than an episode ilioverheat because haikuwa na coolant. No other issues besides that

When was the last time you flashed the radiator?

Flushing kumaanisha? Kama ni kutoa coolant yote yes. Otherwise fafanua tafadhali

  1. Cooling system yote iangaliwe. It is the most likely culprit.
  • Is the thermostat working okay (Is it opening and closing at the set temperatures)
  • Is the radiator cap okay (Most likely faulty if the coolant is returning to the coolant tank)
  • Check that the radiator is not clogged (Ina flow mzuri)
  • Cooling fan inafanya kazi vizuri
  1. Whereas a blown head gasket might cause overheating, there ought to be other symptoms like white smoke and coolant loss.

Seems a pretty straight forward case. Use the following elimination method, starting with the least expenaive, of course using a different mechanic sio ule alikwambia eti ubadilishe engine. He comes across as dodgy at least going by your description:-

[li]Check the radiator cap. You will be surprised at how this could be the source of your troubles. Faulty caps would lead to the problem you described. Should this be the case, nunua genuine cap. It goes for about 1k. usianze shortcuts. While at it, check if the fans are working as they should na thermostat inafungulia,[/li][li]Kama bado ama shida sii radiator cap, enda radiator iangaliwe for leaks halafu ifunguliwe waoshe ndani. Leaks are common kama the top and bottom covers are made of plastic. Kuna some sludge like residue that builds over time hufunga mashimo za radiator inakosa kupitisha maji vizuri. Kama hakuna excessive corrosion you should be out in 1 hour but kama radiator imeoza ndani itabidi umenunua ingine tuu. Again, hapa you need an experienced guy with the right tools to check if your radiator is releasing pressure. Usiuziwe uoga hapa. Ask for referrals to trustworthy guys from your close circle. Purpose to spend at most 2k,[/li][li]Kama bado, have a kawire check the temperature sensor as well as the gauge cluster. At time this two could be giving out bad readings hence the problems described. Hapa kama in sensor I think it goes for 2k while an ex Japan cluster should set you back kitu 5k so with 10 k kama shida iko hapa utakuwa sorted.[/li][/ol]
Report back should the problem persist ama should it get solved but I think the above three should sort you out for good. Best of luck.

Good you spoke before I spoke. Sijui hii jamaa anaendanga kwa mechanic.mgani huyo anashindwa na kitu basic kama hii.

Radiator system or hoses ziko na cracks and are leaking your coolant, your thermostat is dead and should be replaced

Ahsante sana

Ahsante

Huyu jamaa aliamsha gari ya a friend of mine so I wanted his opinion. But I thought it was too radical kufanya engine overhaul bila troubleshooting kiasi. Just wanted to know experience ya wanakijiji.
Nashukuru at least I wasn’t far off in My thinking. Sometimes unajipata new territory and unataka ideas ama advice

Saa hii kuna njaa Nairobi ikizibaa unapangwa fastafasta.

Will do

Head gasket, na chunga iyo cooling system na coolant ama ukicheza utanunua engine ingine
