Seeing how Elon and Joe Biden are openly sparring on Twitter, it’s high time for Elon to move back to his beloved motherland and create those well paying Tesla jobs right here. In Africa, Elon can get the much deserved respect which he isn’t getting in America. Africa is also the continent most endowed with essential minerals such as lithium for Tesla batteries.
It may not be every billionaire we know. But its typical capitalistic behavior, taking advantage of their suggestions to grow their empire with as little costs as possible incurred.
I found the Biden clip interesting for a totally different reason. The question was clearly pre-chosen and prepped for. Biden picks her out to ask the question, forgets his prepared lines (or the teleprompter may have failed). Biden without skipping a beat goes for the back up talking points tucked conveniently within easy reach in his coat pocket. Career politician carries it out seamlessly. He may be old and senile, but he’s been doing this so long, he can do it half-asleep!
To address the OP. The SA government would not give Musk’s companies the Billions of USD in subsidies, grants and tax credits that the US government does. So, he won’t move. Makes no business sense.
One time he was asked where he was born and he jumped quickly to say he was raised in South Africa when young but grew up in Canada and avoided mentioning the “birth” in Africa…
I would also add that ZA doesn’t have the necessary spending power to keep a company large as Tesla operating and making profits. Imagine they bottled their GDP lead to Nigeria. They should be atleast $500B but here we are.
