All this timing is being done seemlessly by your car’s ECU computer system.

For instance to rotate the crankshaft there is a crank sensor :

This sensor monitors the RPMs in the engine, sparking events and in some cars it also monitors the fuel injection.

All this information is fed back and forth to the ECU as you drive.

There is also an oxygen sensor that measures the air to fuel ratio :

There is the throttle sensor. Hii unajua. It controls air intake. And it is controlled directly by the ECU processor :

Etc etc.

Since the 1950s cars are not designed mechanically but electronically minded.

Cars are becoming more electronically advanced not mechanically advanced.

To repair a modern BMW for instance labda urudishe kwa duka because it’s electronic systems are highly advanced.
