Elections and Democracy

I understand that elections and Democracy are important but what I don’t understand is why it is such a big deal. For example, in US, a quarter of a presidents term is centered on being re-elected while on the second term they try maintain status quo. Trump was campaigning for a whole year.
Here at home, everything this year is centered on elections. It has almost become an economic activity. Not sure when campaigns officially started but before that, funerals and fundraisers were popular with politicians.
Companies are not hiring because of elections, people are moving or going back to ancestral homes because of elections, everyone wants to become an MCA/MP like politics has become a career choice and not a calling like it should be. A youth like mzee mzima could say he wants to be an MCA when he grows up.

Is there an alternative to this madness?

Hamia kwa trump basi as the only alternative

Democracy ain’t the only form of government… Kama hii yetu si democracy. More like delusional democracy.

Naona comprehension skills haziko

This is pure evil, just exploitive system encourange by few locals and foreigners

The benefits one stand to gain once he is a political elite not forgeting the power that comes with it, makes a rational thinker kuwa malenge. Just take a look at this village and you will understand what am trying to say.

Alafu as soon as these elections are done and the losers cry kimeibiwa for like 6 months, all the attention will shift to 2022. We never live in the moment.
