educational papers

why do people nowadays translate more papers to mean higher chances of getting a job??

I have a friend who we graduated together with and nigga has lately been telling me how he wants to do masters to make his chances of getting a job easier. i talked it to him that the solution is not papers but mental preparedness. trust you me a masters degree is just like any other piece of paper without any experience. a masters degree at least will take 3 years to complete so the time he completes the degree it will be 2021 and at that time it will be much tougher to get a job. so if you can’t get a job in 2018 what assures you that you will get a job in 2021??

I mean if we were to go for an interview and we are the two of us one of us has a diploma with 5 years experience while you have a degree and masters with no experience: the one who has a diploma will be chosen for virtue of being experienced unless the one with masters degree bribes his way to get the job. even though training a person is such a difficult task so they will ultimately go with one who has experience.

more papers do not mean more opportunities. why don’t people get that??
it aint a wonder to find a person who has a PhD and he’s jobless. Basically as for me right now am jobless but i don’t think i will go back to pursue another paper it ain’t right. You can do all that and end up working as a cleaner in some toilet at the CBD. a masters can cost one upto 350k to complete instead one could have come up with a business idea to work on.

In the world right now education is not the key to success as they say. infact education is the key to poverty. your creative business idea thinking is they key to your success!!

I blame it on our colonial masters. They gaves us freedom but took our intellectual thinking. African we are conditioned to think that we are inferior.

He has been here consistently bemoaning academic credentials week after week and while I may agree with some of it…he is totalling obsessed with other folks’ failures and fails to address his own. He just admitted he does not have a job currently. Maybe just maybe…sigh.

HUYU NASHUKU HAJAWAI HATA ONA VILE TRANSCRIPTS ZA UNIVERSITY ZINA KAA…

True. If he had,he would have known that there is a world of difference between academic papers and academic qualifications…

Education inflation. Having a masters or PhD gives you an obvious edge. Remember, you can’t even get into some interview rooms without a masters. Sometimes it is the minimum requirement and not having it means that you are automatically disqualified. So, a masters opens more interview doors than a bachelors. From there, unajitetea. If you are seeking work, you want as many chances of being interviewed as possible. Otherwise, you will hate this phrase “minimum requirement of 7 years experience and/or a masters degree”
