A 21-year-old housemaid who defiled a four-year-old boy and filmed the act for online sale has been imprisoned for life.
Shanzu chief magistrate, Florence Macharia handed the life sentence to, Edda Wakesho after she pleaded guilty to two sexual offences.
Macharia noted that the accused used the sex tape, which was viewed in court, as part of the evidence for financial gain.
“The four-year-old child had no idea of what was happening to him. His innocence was taken away by the accused. She is therefore sentenced to serve life imprisonment,” the magistrate read
The suspect was also jailed for 10 years for the offence of promoting child pornography.
“The two sentences will run concurrently,” said the magistrate.
According to the charge sheet, the 21-year-old woman sexually abused the boy and intentionally and unlawfully produced an audiovisual pornographic material of her being in sexually explicit conduct with the minor.
The court was told that the suspect committed the offences between June 2020 and October 2021.

The facts of the case, as read to the court by the prosecution, is that Wakesho, who was employed by the minor’s parents left her job in October last year after demanding payment.
In her mitigation, Wakesho informed the court she was remorseful urging the court that she committed the offences under duress.
“I had been promised job, so was forced to commit the offences, in a way to make end meet,” she said
