Economy in recession

Naona wakiuza $40 million. Yet the same chain was being valued at $100 million a few years ago. Original founders exited at a $66 million valuation ten years ago. I think ni competition imekuwa mingi from other dining chains like Chicken Inn, Artcafe, Big Square etc. Back then Java ndio ilikuwa kusema but not anymore. I remember kuna wakati nilikuwa nakula hapo 360 Degrees ya ABC Place (a Java subsidiary) then customers began to reduce pole pole, I also stopped eating hapo. The only reason I used to visit there once in a while ni juu ya some kunguru I was nyemelearing who really liked their iced tea which tastes like crap.

Their quality massively deteriorated over the years. Back then those niggas used to make tasty stuff, siku izi ni kama tu an ordinary cafe. Ni kama original owner left with his recipe.

worth billions na wamefilisika…

Their menu is just too expensive and food is the same or worse quality and probably less quantity as what I get served at Kanyungu aka California Restaurant off Luthuli avenue for a fraction of that price.

Their coffee is still good. The lack of alcohol in their menu is a let down

Amefanya.

Wanakuaga na ile concoction inaitwa “Dawa”. How can one make it at home?

What makes you think that a recession is the cause of exit by the PE? Why haven’t they exited Garden City?

walitunyima franchise wacha wakule ujeuri yao

Uko na 50M za kufungua branch?? Niliona wakisema that’s what it costs but nashuku wameweka aromat kwa hiyo figure.

“On average, each branch takes up to Sh50 million in order to get it ready and up to the standards we have set. The Astrol branch in Nairobi will accommodate up to 140 customers at a go while the Diani Centre Point branch will accommodate up to 64 customers.”

Garlic, ginger, honey…

nikiweka hio 50m returns ziko aje ? sijsema niko nayo

Economy iko Chini kabisa, gavament is taking uptown 120 days kulipa yet in obako days 30 days uko mpaka na notification message pesa imeingia kwa bank

Sijui. Nimesoma tuu about that capital outlay kwa tabloids.

Jaribu kufungua a basic shop in one of the malls uone ile pesa utahitaji just to refurb and cover rent … Then enda uulize bei ya commercial kitchen equipment and you’ll see why 50 million si exaggerated

Wazi. Shida ni kupata genuine honey. I bought one at Naivas but it was too sweet, triggering my suspicion that kuna karata waucheza

Pro tip. Genuine honey does not dissolve in water instantly. So, get a clear glass of water and pour one drop of the “honey”. Genuine honey will sink into a ball at the bottom of the glass. Fake honey will dissolve.

Anyone needs Genuine honey I can supply.
Wachana na Ile imekorogwa Sukari nguru/jaggery au sijui sarakasi hufanywa na Ndizi ripe.
