am highly doubtful this EAC thing will ever take off. the suspicions among member states is too damn high and the mistrust leading to the first EAC collapse has never cooled off. its so sad that UG, TZ didn’t support Kenya. me thinks if Kenya burns, our neighbours would be more than willing to donate more fuel to the fire.

Uganda did support kenya it only withdrew in the 7th round since in that round chad was the only candidate and it was seeking a 2/3 of the votes so by abstaining uganda was actually helping kenya by creating a voting deadlock…

The East African Federation will NEVER materialize, as much as the benefits outweigh the odds simply because East Africa is too fragmented culturally and politically. They even downgraded it to be more of a confederation chini ya maji. That is just a recipe for disaster.
