A recent post challenged the notion of inter-marriage between Kikuyus and Luos, highlighting an apparent lack of reciprocity. The poster argued that this does not qualify as inter-marriage. The reasoning behind this assertion is that it is only Luo men that are more likely to marry Kikuyu women, whereas Kikuyu men tend to avoid marrying Luo women.

Additionally, the post claims that when a Luo man marries a Kikuyu woman, they usually relocate to Molima or Nairobi, and only occasionally reside in the lakeside region if the husband has substantial wealth. The post also notes that the children are often given Molima or fancy Swahili names, to avoid Dholuo names.
Although the accuracy of these claims is uncertain, it is clear that the issue at hand is not specifically related to Luo men, but rather the broader phenomenon that inter-marrying into Kikuyu may potentially enhance one’s prospects for success in life. It seems that Luo men have become aware of this trend and are taking advantage of it.
The issue is not Luo men. It is the belief and assertion that goes around that any man from this universe inter-marry into the Agikuyu; the probabilities of thriving and prospering in life are a little higher than inter-marrying just any other tribe. Lets just say the Luo men discovered that theory and did not shy away from testing it. You should try it.
Mnasema murima. You haven’t met my sisters pale coast, with beauty that makes the Luo men bow down and worship them. If they find the girl is Muslim, Eng. Ojwan’g Owiti will get circumcised same day, and convert to Islam adopting the name Abdalla Okoth.
