Purity Wanjiru Gatugo (extreme right), Mariga Ngugi, Tom Kariuki Kiungo, John Maina Mwangi, Cyril Conrad Chege, James Munene Gatugo and John Wanyoike Muturi when they appeared in a Thika court for the murder of Joyce Wambui Githitu.
The son-in-law to slain Thika businesslady Joyce Wambui Githitu is among seven suspects who were arraigned in a Thika Court on Thursday in connection to her brutal murder on Monday night at her residence in Maki Estate.
Purity Wanjiru Gatugo (the deceased’s house help), Mariga Ngugi, Tom Kariuki Kiungo, John Maina Mwangi, Cyril Conrad Chege, James Munene Gatugo (brother to the house help) and John Wanyoike Muturi, jointly with others not before the court, were accused of killing Joyce Wambui Githitu on the night of Monday the 27th of February 2017.
Cyril Conrad Chege is married to the deceased’s only daughter Mercy Githitu.
The suspects, who all are in their 20s will report back to court on the 9th March 2017.
The house-girl, Purity Gatugo, is said to have previously confessed that the financier of the hit-squad paid up a down payment of Kshs. 500,000 to execute the murder. She is suspected to have let the assailants in the house.
The Late Joyce Wambui Githitu owned several commercial buildings in the town all of unknown value.
