Don’t be fooled by all those expats from America and Europe making content on why Africa is the future.
People like that Ethiopian woman from Germany, guys like Ryan Fagan, Austin Holleman and even diaspora Kenyans convincing you that Africa is the place to be. Those guys are making courses and selling consultancy services to westerners on matters that concern moving to Africa. They need to create a believable story to their clients. Remember that Wuon Odidi dude too? The guy uses his platform to “help diaspora Kenyans get the best deals in construction…..a network of fundis, hardware and project management services”. Such a guy is basically monetizing his dual life as a Kenyan American living between his mansion in Karateng, Kisumu and Long Beach, California. He preaches the beauty of the village then uses that to be the local watchman of people building houses in Kenya. I actually respect the hustle.
The Ethiopian woman from Germany? Well, she’s an “AirBnb Enterpreneur” who is now selling a course on how to start the AirBnb business in Africa based on her life as an operator for years (ALLEGEDLY).
Remember that Jamaican guy (Jam Tours, I think)? The guy is literally acting as an agent for Chinese Real Estate companies building those luxury apartments by marketing them to the Jamaicans in the diaspora residing in western countries. You’ll constantly see him taking hoards of Jamaica Brits and Jamaican Americans on tours to those apartments.
Then there’s guys like The Wandering Investor and Ryan Fagan. These guys buy apartment properties (ALLEGEDLY) and then use that as a Segway into offering consultancy services to their countrymen.
The cost of living in the west has gone up exponentially in the past few years after COVID 19 and lots of people can’t afford their expensive bills - mortgages, car payments, groceries, tuition costs and everything else. So there’s a lot of uninformed westerners in a very gullible position and they therefore fall prey to FAKE gurus.
Everyone of those guys asking people to relocate to Africa, ask them then why they aren’t giving up their western passports. Don’t be fooled.
