This is a question that most people think they have an answer to but if you ask them to sit at a corner and write a one page essay about who they are be assured they have no clue about who they are,they just know what they do,their careers,their families and maybe a little about their friends.
It takes a traumatic event to shake you to your core to experience and existential crisis.This events don’t happen to everyone, granted some people cruise through life without experiencing anything so traumatic that they question their existence or who they really are if they lost everything that their own or their title at work and their families.
It is important to have an identity even without your job,family’s or money.That is what propels you in the eventuality of a catastrophic or traumatic event.It is important for men to do a regular self analysis to see who they really are because this keeps changing and who you are is not fixated on one thing only.
Who are you without your kids,family,job,car or even without your friends?
99% have an identity attached to family,jobs and family! That’s not who you are,those are your roles or responsibilities.
