Do waiters expect to be tipped in the Republic?

So juzi I get to a certain restaurant in town for lunch. After finishing my meal I call the waiter and ask her if they accepted card payments, she replied in the affirmative and I tell her to bring over the machine. This bitch mood changed drastically although she was not even that pleasant in the beginning.

I pay and as am leaving I take a glance at her na bado bitch was in foul mood, it hits me the ferk did she expect me to tip her? I will ONLY tip if the service was way above standards. So do waiters actually expect to be tipped automatically nowadays?

At the current time its a NO due to our economy situation. We are highly over taxed.

whoever served you must have been a tranny…

Kuna wengine, especially kwa club ,when giving you change they’ve already tipped themselves before you do it.

They don’t like it when you have exact change to the last 10/=

Hawa wezi wa clubs do that to drunk fellows

Most will fetch you coins as your change so that you tip them.

no. in kenya, there is an automatic service charge in restaurants. this is like a collective tipping for all hotel service workers as it is shared out among employees at service points. so unless you get exceptionally exceedingly good service, dont bother

I am a shiny eye. That means I have no free money to give to people who are already being paid to do what they do. Mtu anatip waiter or barmaid has no respect for money and he probably doesn’t deserve it. Nikapata mtu ana deni yangu akitip waiter tunaweza kosana sana.

Everything should be done out of the goodness of your heart. If you feel like you want to tip them, well and good.
If you don’t, it’s no big deal.
At the end of the day, money is energy. It will make you feel some type of way, no matter how you use it.

I always wonder. I tip but they mostly stay expressionless.

if the employee comes around, builds a rapport, engages in substantiated convo, gets my order right and checks on me from time to time or visible within the establishment in that i do not have to search for them ,as is the norm in this here country,i will generously tip them.problem comes when you frequent the place and they are expecting you to tip

If they do that I usually take the coins and very deliberately pocket them as I watch their facial expression.
I never like being manipulated.

tipping is a foreign culture. we also serve people in our offices and they never tip. ii culture ya mzungu inaharibu

Huyo hakujam juu ya tip.Seems like alikuwa ashapanga na mtu wa kitchen na supervisor hiyo pesa yako ilikuwa yao especially if the receipt ni handwritten. But even when the receipts are computer generated they usually give you old receipts if you’re not too keen!

PEana Tip. I tip as upto 200/= which The wife Bills me later ati “unawezaje peana 200/=” so nowadays tukienda kula nyama she carries the money plus cards…I end up looking like nimepelekwa out

I only tip male waiters nkiwa nayo since ukiona mzee anafanya hio kazi ana familia inamgoja home, unlike wamama hutipiwa kila saa. Male waiter ntatip

in my butchery sisi huwa hatupendi your measly tips ndio mtukumie kwa mdomo ,lipa kile umetumia and fuck off
