I know a couple of people in the movie business. Consider it a huge achievement to even make it to the box office. Investors have to put up a lot of money for production to even consider taking that route.
Actors? Writers? Camera crew?
They do it all. From investing to producing, finding actors, writing. They even got a couple of movies into theatre. Very low budget. Most of what people know of is high budget stuff. But theres a whole other industry on low budget.

The hamster-wheeling I see on this site sometimes…just because you take a stand on a certain issue and people support you for it, doesn’t mean they’re going to come out in droves to watch your movie.

She a great actor as seen in The Mandalorian. Too bad the series was discontinued. Looking forward to another Star Wars live-action spin-off.

Wrestlers and MMAs are truly the WOAT movie actors. The only Dwayne Johnson movies I’ve ever liked are Faster in which he legit only speaks like 6-7 lines despite being the main protagonist, and Pain & Gain where he basically just plays himself i.e. a dumb steroid abuser.
