Degree in International Relations

There is a niece of mine that have just told me that she is looking forward to pursue this course, saa a was like WT** is that.
Watu wa kijiji tebu saindieni, is the course marketable and which are its pros and cons.

Results zake ndo hizo:

AGP 65 MG B ENG B+ KISW A- MAT B- BIO B- CHE C+ GEO B CRE A- BUS B+

The course is not very marketable. But she can still do it and hope to secure employment in the few places such as embasssies, Foreign ministry, and some internationals NGOs…Otherwise, she can become a lecturer in the same if she advances

Wacha afanye…I did this but at an post graduate level( among others)…very interesting course na imeniwasha skills nyingi in running my NGO…first degree will not guarantee that you will go to work in that field…kuna wengi wamefanya Bcom na IT na wako huko inje bila makazi…degree unafanya ku expand your knowledge at the same time you do professional short courses on the side kupata kazi ni bidii yako na blessing ya mungu…I always advice people not to shun socials sciences…ile kitu I don’t advice people to do ni comp science na IT unless they have real passion in technology and driving change…ukifanya IT masomo haitaisha you must be that person who is willing to learn something new everyday which I find lackingin most youngings unafanya tu kwasababu mzazi amesema ufanye sciences

Your niece is one of the rare few who knows what she wants…support her

iyo IR iko powa coz haina watu wengi,so u guaranteed to go somewhere…UON hutoa MBA students wengi sana (im not equipped with precise statistical figures) bila kuhesabu izo uni zingine while Masters in IR from UON hutoa aroud 20…watu 20 hawaezi kosa placement as compared with hizo figures za MBA…further unafanya MBA ukiwa na kazi unlike IR…so fanya iyo IR utaona umuhimu wake…kama una pesa fanyia USIU coz job palcement will be guaranteed…UON is advisable as a second degree ama afanye degree in International Studies which has more of Economics, International Law, IR, Diplomacy etc

afanye tu lakini asijifunge ati akimada chuo atadunga kazi ya IR solo

Its only he has not gotten a place not that he cant work for anyone

After how long is the placement? A friend graduated from USIU in 2014, with a degree in the same course and he never got placement
