Once the vibrant agricultural sector was interfered and mess up with the death of industries in Nakuru was equally sealed. The influx of cheap low quality Chinese products has worsened the problem.
Almost all industries have collapsed leaving thousands of you people without any opportunities, hawking (cheap counterfeit Chinese stuff) is the only activity and it is exceedingly overcrowded.

The greatest tragedy about Nakuru, it is the one stop place where politicians head to when they are seeking vote, yet all remain oblivious of the industrial tragedy that has unfolded. Something needs to be corrected, the political class are docile and hopeless.
Nakuru is an important transit Town. How to do we revive this once majestic town, turned into an immense slum?
Central government needs to place Nakuru under special measures, with a supervisory recovery program.

Devolution kizee, Gov. Lee Kinyanjui, kazee kwako. Nakuru was Vibrant back in the days, a cool Agricultural town, then 1992 tribal clashes happened, and almost every election cycle has brought some form of violence or threats.

Anyway Mombasa, Kiambu, Nakuru, Narok and Uasin Gishu counties are lucky to be the first to host a Special Economic Zone each.

Population of Nakuru county is 1.6,the same way that not everyone who works in Nairobi CBD or indur lives in the area -the population working in the industries live all over the county - you’d think that would be pretty obvious but some people here are so retarded it hurts. Chinese counterfeit products are all over the market while they will not even eat eggs from Kenya, they have to bring their own. These are the people who love their country and will not let a cent to go to another country. What we have in Kenya is just people looking to sell their country for personal benefit not knowing that development of a country is more sustainable than amassing individual wealth at the expense of the country’s future. China government is the sharpest in the world, not these embe dodos we have in Africa here who cant see beyond their noses.
