I think most of the amatuer politicians assume they will just drop a few cents on the ground and then that’s the end of it.
What actually happens is, interested parties will do their own investigations and then serve ‘justice’ as they see fit.
Not according to what some foolish parliamentarian thinks is justice.
That’s true. Even in Lamu, Githeri Media reported that it was al-Shabaab, but it was actually the local’s killing those they believed had acquired their land illegally and outsiders from their community.

Indeed. In Kenya, all tribal conflicts can be traced down to land issues. The surprising thing is why political players want to transfer problems into areas where they don’t exist.. even though it’s much more beneficial to play the game like a trade unionist (Kenyatta) not like a revolutionary (Dedan Kimathi). Samburus are generally considered bandits, so why would a uniformed man recruit from these people?
Is it a cost issue?
