OVERVIEW OF THE ASSET FORFEITURE PROGRAM
The Department of Justice Asset Forfeiture Program encompasses the seizure and forfeiture of assets that represent the proceeds of, or were used to facilitate federal crimes. The primary mission of the Program is to employ asset forfeiture powers in a manner that enhances public safety and security. This is accomplished by removing the proceeds of crime and other assets relied upon by criminals and their associates to perpetuate their criminal activity against our society. Asset forfeiture has the power to disrupt or dismantle criminal organizations that would continue to function if we only convicted and incarcerated specific individuals.
This will be the most important and interesting part.
When it comes to money trail, alot of beans get spilled.
Not sure if the Kenyan Government carefully looked at this scenario.
This actually works more than even imprisonment of the accused. It even forces the accused hand to cooperate with security organs and make a deal. We have even copied it here with the asset recovery unit in EACC. Right now they have frozen and taken over securities worth 400 million from the NYS accused suspects. If they lose the case it’s all gone. All the cars, land title deeds, accounts and houses. That 120 million Waiguru house has been attached.
You can never hide from the truth no matter how much you stay in denial. Hoho and his drug baron lifestyle always lasts a long as a candle light. Short lived.
DPP hasn’t cleared her yet, she remains a person of interest by both EACC and DPP office. Forget about what Ahmednasir statement that she was cleared. She was summoned by asset recovery unit and asked to sign an affidavit of all her assets. Once she did it was verified and a order barring their transfer issued. I’m awaiting to see what the new team at EACC will decide on this case.
If the Akasha’s and the other Two decide to cooperate, this will greatly touch the political class and the top civil servants, especially those in the justice system.
What you should know is, by the time of Akasha jrns arrest, they were small time criminals with little significance, their arrest and extradition was a purely cosmetic exercise, they were just daft mofos who played into the DEA is hands. The real drug kingpins are untouchable, they can bring whole governments down, their influence is rooted in every institution in this country.
It’s very simple, if you take away all those mentioned, Kabogo, Sonko, Mary Wambui etc it’s wouldn’t affect Jubilee as much, they will be replaced with better people and life goes on. If hoho goes a big dent in opposition has been made. Here the war on drugs is good to weed out the system.
When eating Ugali, u start from the outer part, which is cooler. A matter of working with the known before getting to the Unknown.
Those two that you are referring as ‘small time criminal’ are capable of causing untold damages to the system. The information they possess is a gold mine.
Then u have the Indian and the Pakistani, for them to deal with drugs and be comfortable in a foreign territory, they must have had powerful individual protecting them.
