sell out
He was a classical example of why Nobel Peace Prize is nothing but a hoax; a string used by the White supremacists and eurocentrics to have a grip on the world.
Huyu alijaribu kusaidia nyeuthi lakini his successor akafinya nyeuthi makende kabisa
Wasn’t he the one who made it possible for nyeuthis to take over?
It is like someone taking you hostage in your house then expect that you applaud him when he finally set you free.
He was still alive … must be kendo 140yrs ivi.
Not really. All Presidents before him maintained apartheid. He is the one who broke the straw.
De Klerk did a lot to aid in Mandela’s release by facilitating negotiation, and the subsequent end to a white only rule in SA. Of course some people will argue that freedom must be on one’s own terms, but white South Africans had the power–control of mineral wealth, the police and the military. In Long Walk to Freedom, one can see the role De Klerk played. Mandela would probably never have been released if it wasn’t for De Klerk’s willingness to meet with him one on one and map out an all inclusive SA. That was a plus for the man.
May he rest in peace then…
I could have sworn this buzzard croacked waaay back
Where will History place this man.
Jamaa ameishi.
The 3 Presidents after Mandela were sellouts. When Mandela was coming out off Prison, these guys had accumulated wealth from the system that had incarcerated him.
He must have been one disappointment man.
Negros once again ruined a productive country.
Mimi hushinda nikiwaambia kila siku, analyze these world events that took place in the early 90s from the perspective of the cold war. One of the reasons the west tolerated Apartheid was because those Boers would always threaten to align with the USSR whenever they got pushed. Is it by coincidence that Mandela was released from prison in 1990, less than six months after the Berlin wall fell? The west started applying severe pressure on governments across the world (including Kenya) to adopt democracy.
The Boers had nothing to blackmail the US with. They had to introduce democracy or face crippling sanctions. So De Klerk didn’t do all those things because he was kind, he had no choice. If the USSR had remained intact, Apartheid would still be alive in SA.
The bugger was still alive kumbe
He was just another Boer supremacist…why did he dismantle the nuclear weapons when it was time to hand over to blacks
