If we don’t push this issue the west hopes they stay here forever and the NGO’s continue to milk the funding forever while they take forever to settle government bills for hosting them here. Even Trump is sending undocumented immigrants home while us we are only saying by to a long over staying neighbor. The west reduce funding for anisom also contributed to government to push for this closure. Lastly at least now all refugees have been registered afresh using bio-metric and surveillance increased to weed out terrorist supporters within the camp.

Our brothers should remain here, with us

I think most Western leaders prefer it to remain open to prevent large numbers of refugees travelling by boats to Europe. Kwanza saa hii kuna a strong anti-Islamic sentiment in some European nations hata U.S.

Kwanza unlike China, the west promises alot then give it slowly in trickles if you don’t know how to push. It’s estimated $100 billion has so far been spent in Somali with nothing to show in the ground. Turkey has only spent $100 million a year for a few years and Mogadishu is transforming quickly. NGOs inanyonya hapa mbaya.

you do not even have the remotest authority to speak of somalia and somalis …stick to your lane

The somali refugees have been institutionalized, 24 years in the camp where you are feed, cloth, treated when sick, free schools, few recreations and no meaningful economic activity. They now fear leaving the camp and starting over in the harsh reality of life. Same thing prisoners feel when they are set free after decades in prison. Alshabab has been pushed to rural areas while there are many urban areas they can be resettled in cheaper and more effective than keeping them in camps. The NGO’s making noise don’t want to lose their meal ticket.

Kenya should push for funds to be channeled to AMISOM and the government of Somalia to build up infrastructure and provide amenities in the towns liberated by AMISOM, when most of that wartorn country gets to know peace and their government can keep off AS then we can forcefully eject all those refugees warudi kwao. That is something that can be achieved in the next 5 years.

Why do we need funding from the US. What happened to African solutions?

When I was a freshly minted NV kimutu kinaitwo Spear kilinitusi sana kwa sababu nilisema timeline yenye ilipeanwa ni PR nonsense not based in reality.

maybe part of the homegrown solution is capitalizing on donor funding :D:D:D:D

Eating a humble pie.

And what exactly will they do here? Refugees rarely become productive citizens.

Now that Trump is president of US, I don’t think Africa will feature anywhere on his agenda. We are finally on our own to chart our destiny without interference.
