CS Nakhumicha seeks to rebrand NHIF to National Social Health Insurance Fund (NSHIS). Do we really need this?

Re-branding is not a bad thing. Actually, it can allow the government to redefine the value citizens/customers place on health insurance offerings. But with the current economy, is it really necessary? First of all, NHIF being one of the largest agencies in Kenya, it is certain that it will spend millions on their re-brand, money that could otherwise be channeled to critical sectors of the economy. Worse still, it will create confusion, cost the government money, and it will be definitely met with suspicion. I haven’t even mentioned tenders (printing, awareness team e.t.c) that will be awarded to specific people to siphon the little we currently have in our reserves.

Shouldn’t the CS be focusing on service delivery and heallthcare reforms in the docket rather than theses mischievous activities?

I believe she can still inform significant changes regarding NHIF and service delivery without re-branding.

Re-branding is big business, utakuta watu wake wako na a branding company waiting for the tenders

ata police walibadilisha jina na uniform na akuna kitu

 1. National Youth Services Rebranded kidogo-kidogo, Scandal.
 2. KQ Rebranded kidogo-kidogo, Scandal.
 3. Kenya Power Rebranded kidogo-kidogo, Scandal.
 4. Kenyatta Hospital Rebranded kidogo-kidogo …you guessed right! Scandal … …Just Saying …:D:D:D

That word Social often leads to a socialist economy with socialist tendencies

Hii ni kutafutia circle yake and most probably tumbo zina-occupy top seats deals za kuomoka

Na si juzi tu Nabii amesema wanaweza vaa uniforms za kitambo waki-review kama they really need hizo uniforms za wachinku. Makes you wonder, what kind of people, and why were they driving such policies. Now we are back to where we started kwa hio issue ya police uniforms. Hakuna maendelo kabisa.

Tushaweka clowns kwa top seats, sasa tuenjoy tu the show.

And all she has to do to benefit from this scheme ni abadilishe tu msitu, lakini nyani wabakie wale wale tu.

By the way, there is depth in your supposition because the enactment of the National Hospital Insurance Fund Act No. 9 in 1998, made NHIF an autonomous government agency, separating it from the direct control of the MoH. Their agenda introducing “Social” in the name inaweza kuwa ina-target centralized state-ownership. Though I am not sure how government ownership and direct control ya NHIF can help citizens in matters concerning health or how they intend the alleged plan to work in their favour.

What are the benefits of branding

Hio ni umeffi. Ata iitwe Baby Panay insurance if services are crappy, there will be no change.

Hii ni centralized state ownership wanajaribu
