Crossing the Border to Kenya from Uganda or Tanzania

Dada na ndugu wezangu… I can not keep up with travel documents needed to travel within East African countries. A friend from Uganda asked me if he needs a passport to visit me in Kenya.
I hope what I told him is right. That to travel by road, all he needs is his National ID card… but if he is flying he needs a passport.
Any assistance with the right information from a KTalker will be appreciated ?

Road ID Card is OK…ndege najua tu mambo ya Amsterdam

The last time I travelled to Uganda an ID will not do. I suspect its an import but I digress. Mwambie kama hana passport he can get a temporary passport at the border on the Ugandan side but its better he/she has it before travelling so that they dont get delayed at the border.

Mimi nilienda na ID pekee yake!

I’ll be crossing into UG in a few hours, so far I know an ID is good.

To Uganda even an ID will be enough. For TZ you will need your passport if by air.And ensure for either cases you have your yellow fever card with you.

Thanks @LISPY and good to know about the yellow fever card, to be on the safe side…

Why the hell do East African countries require yellow fever documents from each other ?

Tumejaa yellow-fever…

Ulienda De Wallen?

yap yellow fever is important otherwise utasumbuliwa ile mbaya. for UG an ID will do but for TZ sometimes unaeza patana na immigrations officer fala akusumbue uskie kuchizi
