I think uhuru government is giving this joho too much unnecessary exposure. Gov advisers or whoever, you have elevated this gov to a hero. Me believe this goverment has something to learn from the former president. Accept malindi was genuinely lost, work out ways of earning the trust of coast people and live to fight another day. Dont engage the governor. Acknowledge his efforts in winning the seat, make him feel good but plan well behind his back. Cord bo

Uhuru cannot win the trust of Coast people, no matter what he does. He should consider Coast Province a lost cause. The guy literally camped there handing out title deeds while our soldiers were being slaughtered in El-Adde and this is how they appreciate Jubilee? What you must understand is that unfortunately (or otherwise) depending on how you see it, Coasterians have deep roots of bitterness and hatred towards Mt Kenya people. That’s a fact. Add the Arab/Islam angle…these guys act like Mombasa is still under the Sultan of Oman. You can’t ignore the cultural/religious angle. They believe Coast province is ripe for a take over by Muslims (extremists), to secede from mainland Kenya. If I were UK, I would sabotage Coast economically until they are subdued. Moi would do the same. He had no time to coddle people he knew would never support him, like the Kikuyus,… so what did he do? He gave them a total economic blackout. Anyway, since Mombasa port is the main issue of contention, UK should support Dar’s port. Let them have Mombasa, and assure that any goods imported to Kenya via Mombasa will be subject to huge levies such that no one in their right mind will use that port.
