Corrupt Windows 7 files

What remedy is there, or what downloadable windows tool can i use to fix “Windows Explorer has stopped working” error. If at all it [SIZE=5]cant[/SIZE] be fixed by [SIZE=5]cmd.exe…run as admin, sfc/scannow [SIZE=4]procedure[ATTACH=full]55570[/ATTACH] [/SIZE] [/SIZE]

Boot into safe mode. Windows 7 is a very stable OS. The only time explorer crashed on me is after installation of a bad file archive extractor. It is likely due to an Explorer extension.
If Explorer works fine in safe mode go ahead an uninstall all apps that have hooked into explorer.

The portable program did its best but apparently overwhelmed by some errors…Looks like a serious virus/spyware (that which adds a shortcut to every folder/file) has “eaten” some system files now only option remaining is formatting and reinstalling the OS
