The only way JaKuon can avoid a repeat of his 2013 drubbing is to ensure that there are no elections, or that they are so marred by controversy that foreign arbitrators would have to be invited to resolve the impasse (Cote 'd Ivoire model).
The hard numbers (opinion polls and voter registration) just do not favour JaKuon. (‘Co-principals’ ka-Wiper, Wetagunia and Phandom barely appear on the radar, let us omit them from the story). So, it appears like the strategy is to oppose, contest and sabotage all ideas, agreements and processes that may guarantee free and fair elections in 2017. It does not matter that CORD has sat in and agreed on some of the mechanisms and measures.
For example, having said nothing negative about the voter register audit started last Friday, they have now sent another wordy CORDiot lawyer to court and had the process (temporarily) stopped:
Jubilee doesn’t have to do anything more than follow the guidelines, stick to the constitution and use the proper organs to approach the elections.
CORD must agitate, insult, file suits, scream for foreign intervention and generally try to whip up an impression of a crisis. This method is so over-used that it is totally incapable of exciting the Kenyan voter, hence JaKuon’s paltry 22%. As we saw the other day when Odunga refused to grant them their prayers to have debate stopped, the judges used for CORD’s plots are also getting tired of the silly games.
August will come and we shall see WNBP off to Bondo.
The sheer bravado displayed by Jubilee MPs and the following excitement by the same lot on passing the bill doesn’t not come off as a group whose candidate has the election in the bag as we are made to believe.
Everyone is tired of TMTs antics. Judiciary, Business people, foreign mercenaries, NGOs, Evil Societies… even dogs can’t copulate in peace because RWNBP
