Controversial Liar Charlene Ruto Re-Invents Her Humble Background

Charlene Ruto Narrates Humble Beginning to UN Delegates in US

President William Ruto’s daughter Charlene Ruto took the President’s hustling image abroad on Sunday when she told a United Nations Summit that her father is a chicken farmer, the foundation of her humble beginnings in Agriculture.

Charlene, while addressing the delegates at the United Nations’ Summit of the Future Action Day in New York, USA, added that her mother, the first lady, is a flower farmer and good with running kitchen gardens.

‘’My father is a chicken farmer while my mother, Rachel Ruto, is a flower farmer and she is great with kitchen farmers and does amazing kitchen gardens,’’ Charlene stated.

The first daughter, who has been the subject of online controversies on her campaigns, also told the delegates that she is a bee farmer, insisting that the business has vast opportunities for young people.

‘’I do beekeeping and sell honey as a business and when I got into the business I realized it has a vast of opportunities for the young people,‘’ she added.

Charlene, who is the founder of Smart Mechanized Agriculture & Climate Action for Humanity & Sustainability (SMACHS), told the delegates that she was motivated to work with other partners to lower the average age of a farmer from the age of 69 to 16 years.

‘’We can work together to change the average age of a farmer in Kenya from 69 to 16 years,’’ she added.

She also asked the delegates to visit Kenya for an experience to see Kenya’s rich tourism sector including the swimming lions of Kenya.

‘’Allow me to welcome you to Kenya as we have beautiful beaches and the only country with a park within a national city as well as swimming lions,’’ Charlene added.

Charlene, who came to the public limelight in 2022, in the run-up to the elections, has been a subject of controversies online with many people viewing her as too motivated for issues surrounding youth affairs.

The United Nations’ Summit of the Future Action Day happening in New York is an event organised by the United Nations to elevate the voice of youth in the multilateral system.

Charlene Ruto is representing her foundation at the event in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly where President Ruto is expected to attend.

In 2016, then Deputy President William Ruto explained that his political and material wealth is achieved through ‘sheer hard work’. :slightly_smiling_face:

Speaking from New York, Ruto said he has worked hard all through his life and people should accept that ‘son of a peasant farmer has made it in life’.
“I understand that many people have a problem with the son of a peasant getting this far because normally it does not happen. But we have to wake up to a new reality that this is a Kenya where every child, irrespective of their background, where they come from, whether they are poor or where they come from - has a chance,” the DP said.

Ruto said he sold chicken at the roadside in his rural home to get schools fees.

President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto, has announced an opportunity for Kenyans to win nearly Ksh200,000, giving a chance to millions of youth.

Taking to her official X, Charlene revealed that the competition dubbed the Website Design Competition, will allow youths aged between 18 and 35 years to showcase their prowess in website design and stand a chance to win 1,500 USD (about Ksh194,145 in the current exchange rates).

“It’s time for our next big thing… the website competition! Are you between 18 and 35 years old? Team up in groups of 3 and show us what you’ve got,” Charlene wrote. The competition will run for 30 days.

To enter the competition, participants must team up as a group of three, share links to three websites the team or members have created, and send a short technical proposal for the website they would create for The Young People’s Network International platform.

Participants must also attach IDs and profiles of all three team members.

The challenge is open from today, Saturday, January 11, and application submissions will end on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

According to Charlene, some of the requirements that participants should take note of are that the website must have a youthful appeal, give vibrant, modern visuals, and use The Young People’s Network International (TYPNI) colours.

The website should also prioritise a layout optimised for mobile viewing, simple to navigate with clear intuitive navigation, and suggest features that encourage user interaction and community building.

Participants have been informed that the website should have readable fonts and high-contrast colours for inclusive designs. It should also have unique features that propose creative elements that would make the design memorable and stand out.

This is not the first time Charlene has involved the youth in designing elements of the TYPNI.

In March 2024, the first daughter announced a similar competition where youths were invited to design its logo.

The winning designer was awarded a cash prize of Ksh100,000.

Additionally, they had the unique opportunity to meet and dine with Ms. Ruto, adding a level of personal touch to the accolade.
