According to the info from my aunt, an “agent” from safaricom call center called her. Gave her details, including the mshwari loan balance , ID etc and suggested she pay her due loan so as to top up.She forwarded 17 k(It’s not clear whether to a paybill no. given or a code)
She wanted a higher loan of 150k the agent told her , they work together with Equitel customer care since her mshwari loan limit was below 20k equitel would be better.
An equitel “agent” called and gave the loan options and payment method.And also had her equitel line info like balance , transactions etc
My aunt had funds in her equity account , she transferred 80 k so as to qualify for the loan.When the agent told her to delete the message from mpesa and equitel she sensesd something was wrong, but it was too late.

True , how come they prey on active equitel line users. One called my sis since she was in a meeting, she rescheduled, he later called her the next morning.
