Milimani Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina has ordered the continued detention of two bouncers linked to the murder of a reveller at VIP Club along River Road, Nairobi. The suspects Felix Ochieng and Rydon Majoni will remain in custody at Kamukunji Police Station for 14 more days as investigations continue.
The victim, who was accused of stealing a phone during a jam session on May 5, was allegedly restrained by the suspects, violently assaulted, and left bleeding in a locked room. He was discovered unconscious the next day by a cleaner and later died from his injuries.
DCI detectives told the court the suspects may have tampered with CCTV footage and are yet to undergo a mental assessment and identification parade. Broken sticks believed to have been used in the assault were recovered at the scene.
The suspects opposed the DCI’s request for 21 days, but the court granted a 14-day custodial extension to facilitate further investigations. So far, VIP seems to stand for “Very Incriminating personnel"
