Detectives from various agencies have allegedly seized cocaine estimated to be worth over Sh360 million at the Mombasa Port on Friday.
A source who sought anonymity said they seized four containers, two of which were found to contain cocaine, while the other two had sugar.
He added that the local value of the haul is Sh360 million.
Although details remain scant, the Star established that the containers were offloads from either MSC Nacole and MSC Posetano.
Both vessels docked at berth number 16 at around 5.15am and 4am respectively.
MSC Nacole is a Panama-flagged vessel and its clearing agents are the Mediterranean company.
Head of anti-narcotics, Hamisi Massa, said they are still verifying the contents of the containers and will brief the media as details emerge.
The containers are being stripped at the police port headquarters.
