Citizen has been advertising for 60 positions to be recruited for 8 months. If you go to the portal, each applicant has to pay Ksh. 1,000. With the kind of advertisement they have made, this might attract at least 100 thousand applicants. Using multiplication 100,0001000=Ksh. 100,000,000 (100million)
Now they only need 60 people for 8 months (remember these are sales agent-I guess you know the salary of sales agents!!). Let’s assume each sales agent will be paid 30,000 (remember this is an assumption, the amount could be far lower than this e.g. could even be 15thousand…it is even rumoured that they will get 10 thousand)…so if each and every agent is to be paid 30 thousand for 8 months we have; 30,0008=Ksh. 240,000…next we have 60 agents; the 60 agents over an 8 month period will pocket a total of 240,000*60=14,400,000 (14.4 million). Subtract and get the difference (the difference is the profit, i.e. 100m-14.4m=85.6m).
N/B: remember they just laid off some employees the other day because of tough economic climate!!
They will just say those are application processing fees they will pay to a recruitment company to shortlist since their HR will be overwhelmed …if you put a vacancy ad like this expect to hundreds of thousands of applications there is no way an in house HR team can process all those They have neither the man power or resources…a researcher pal told me KNBS advertised for some jobs this year and for the whole month there was a line of people bringing applications…na bado kuna zile posted na za email…they didn’t even have enough space to put the letters…even up to now 4 months on they haven’t stared processing them…ni kubaya
all those lottos by media house claiming peoplewillwin millions yet they are retrenching are all scams. But majority of Kenyans are fools… so its harvest time
They usually don’t open then until after the application deadline has reached…even if you do that it will mean HR hawatafanya job ingine ni hio recruitment only
And that is just shortlisting interviews bado…In Gvt jobs it’s usually more tricky because someone can go to court to challenge why they were not shortlisted and the court recently made a silly judgement on my view that for some jobs all candidates must be interviewed eg for IEBC an ile ya judges which can be very impractical for some positions
citizen is a private company Hii ni Mali ya mtu…hata they can use picky picky ponki to select…
