In the true crime community, there’s no crime that’s been analysed more. It is all because the Watts family lived their lives on social media. The wife Shannon Ruzeck was a multi level marketer for a company called Thrive. So it was like a reality show. The murders unraveled in real time before our own eyes. This shit was better than any movie or thriller that kept you glued to your TV. The 2,000 page discovery notes plus FBI interrogation tapes were available almost immediately.
You would be forgiven to wonder what anyone can learn from such a tragic story but I got a few lessons from it. First off is don’t hook up with anyone immediately after a divorce or breakup, then never hook up with someone when you are going through health challenges because you are not in your right frame of mind and could easily overlook red flags and your intuition.
Secondly don’t be a control freak, marriage is a partnership. Then don’t spend all your money to the point of being bankrupt to impress people.
Third, always investigate the family of origin of your spouse.The apple rarely falls far from the tree. Be very careful with your in laws and avoid them as much as you can if they decline to attend your wedding. Loving parents support their children even when they are not in agreement. Not attending your child’s wedding is narcissistic and manipulative.
Fourth, never allow your spouse to pressure you to get more kids when you are not ready, this is for women. Also for women if you are sure your marriage is falling apart, don’t use sex or therapy or buy books for your husband or confront him to get him back, especially when he’s having an affair you will only drive him further into the arms of the other woman and make him resent you. The best thing would be to give him space and to focus on yourself especially if you are expecting. Many men have affairs when their wives are pregnant. If your husband asks you to get rid of your pregnancy, take your kids and go live somewhere safe. This is no longer somebody you can trust, if he can ask you to kill his unborn child, he is capable of killing you and your children. Get as far away from this man as you can.
