Choice of Engine - Extreme Escapades

I know the title is misleading, however, if you know you do such things twice maybe thrice a year, like me, what would be your number 1 choice of vehicle to own?
Of course, we have seen some buffoons in here talking smack about the old Prado with its instability issues, but Toyota got their ducks in a straight line with their active suspension starting with their J150’s. In some of these videos, nothing screams Horror like a guy showing up with all his family in a High mileage Nissan Xtrail with its CVT or that problematic Chevy that started its slay queen aptness just past Limuru. I’ll be humble enough to admit that I’ve done similar exploits in JDMs, Toyota Hilux 3.0 D-4d Double Cab AT, an Isuzu DMax Double Cab- MT, and most recently with a highly modified Suzuki Jimny which I could trust not to let me down at the suguta valley. I’m thinking that on my next trip, I should experience some British decorum in a Land rover Defender, probably in August when I have a 3000Km target tour, I’m also tempted to try some American flavors in a Jeep or Ford kind of situation, I’m still in the market weighing my options

Peugot 504 Dangel.
Seriously though. Any engine from Toyota/Isuzu will make it effortlessly.
These others will make it but will not give you peace of mind;
2. Mitsubishi
3. Landrover

One of the most underrated engine must be the EJ20. This engine in my opinion has the get up and go attitude for any terrain and conditions. In a Subaru Legacy BH5, Forester SF5, SG5 and SH5 utaenda popote saa yoyote. Mate it to a manual transmission in its turbocharged iteration and enjoy the ride for as long as you live. Once the turbo spools, utajimwagia. The experience is better than sex coz haina PNC.

:D:D I’ve been sidelining the Crossovers for a while now, but you’ve given me a perspective to look into, clearly it’s a safer option than the European/American affair I’m about to get myself into

Kama wewe ni mtu wa kusikia maneno, go for the 2003-2007 forester SG5 turbocharged. The outback BP9 is also worth looking at. You get AWD, raised suspension, okay fuel consumption, roomy inside, power on tap and of course reliability.
