Closely looking at both Thika road and Outering road under construction. The standard work isn’t commensurate with the hype, euphoria, and grand money allocated.
Most of such major roads should last at least two decades or more with superficial maintenance. I however doubt if those will last that long.
For 50 years, the Brits, Italians, Germans and other opportunists built us expensive World-bank/IMF dustings of roads that barely lasted one rainy season. 15 years would not be a bad bargain at all!!:D:D:D:D

That would still be a bargain. Others start falling apart before they are even finished (Muthurwa market). Still, others are under construction in perpetuity (Landhies road).
the rate of wear and tear depends on the viewer’s political alignment. Mombasa road done by German company is registering more wear and tear within a period of 10 years.
