It’s official, we have lived through an era where a business has been shut down because it offers affordable goods to Kenyans. Monopolistic are not upset that China is flooding Kenya with substandard products, they are not concerned with the forthcoming environmental degradation, or threats to products made by Kenya for Kenyans, it is the presence of extremely affordable goods that’s upsetting them. It doesn’t make sense for them to be upset. When China began seeing Kenya as a market for their goods this was the next logical step. Traders have an option of importing from Vietnam or lobbying for policies that facilitate manufacturing. Funny thing is, these same traders have also been known to exploit the consumer with low quality products from the same China.
