This is nothing new. We are already almost fully cashless in most parts of the world. First of all this is why bitcoins were created. Second if you have travelled to the US, Europe and many countries in Africa nobody needs to carry cash. You can transact anything using your phone. Dollar only remains as a reference ( Ksh 100/dollar) and a trust for holding value. Let’s say you take a loan, the contract states the payback is in dollars because the cannot trust a rupee to hold the same values in 20 years.
If anything SKorea has been cashless for years. Almost 10 years. Way ahead of anyone.
