I know this country is on autopilot and the authorities don’t really give a shiet about tackling crime, lakini common sense should still prevail buana. Yaani these three bonobos stole a 55-inch TV at the Milimani Law Courts. CCTV caught them walking out with the device.
It gets worse. One of them stole a mobile phone belonging to a Chief Magistrate handling criminal matters. The phone was traced to another bonobo who promptly led detectives to the suspect. The third suspect was employed as a driver in the judiciary. He was paid Kshs. 2,500 by the two fools to carry the TV in a government issued Mercedes Benz. Sasa wajinga kama hawa unaeza wasaidiaje jameni, ata kama ulibarikiwa na roho ya huruma?
Two court cleaners were caught on CCTV camera stealing a 55 inch TV at Milimani Law Courts on January, Saturday 22 during morning hours.
The two: David Elkanah Nyabuto aged around 25 and Andrew Orina aged 23 from Jepco cleaners company were arrested by officers from Kilimani Police Station and booked for questioning.
It is alleged that the two stole the TV from the court’s 3rd-floor where the children’s court and playground are located.
According to court documents, the driver Eric Manyange Ondieki who is jointly charged with the two cleaners allegedly received KSh 2,500 to transport the stolen item using a government Mercedes Benz.
According to David Samia, the head of security at Nairobi’s Milimani Law Courts, one of the suspects, Andrew Orina also stole a mobile phone belonging to a Chief Magistrate handling criminal matters.
Orina is alleged to have stolen the said phone at the Magistrate’s private chamber while cleaning the office.
It is said that Magistrate Stella Kanyiri complained to the executive officer, one Benson Karanja that her Samsung phone worth Ksh36,000 was missing from her chambers.
“Investigations were carried out by security personnel and the matter was reported at Capital Hill Police Station, where the investigating office tracked the said phone number with the help of officials from Safaricom and it was recovered from a third party who bought the phone from the cleaner,” David said.
The two cleaners are currently held at DCI headquarters as investigators look into the matter.
