After two failed memos and yesterday’s shameful ejection from a house committee for trying to bypass his colleagues, Chebukati has made another effort to sideline Chiloba:
Kudos to the guy. Hardest job in the world at the moment. A precarious middle ground is what he is searching for. So many parties to please. So many attitudes and egos. Judiciary, Parliament, NASA, Jubilee, International Community, Chiloba, Commissioners, State-House, Odinga, THE PUBLIC, contractors…
And like someone said, his role has been reduced to a spectator by law.
No wonder Isaac Hassan turned to a 100 yard sprinter when people would come asking questions.
He is mole of the other person depending on who you ask.
I agree with you wholeheartedly. Sometimes I do have my suspicions of the guy, him being an ODM Life Member and all, but I think he has acquitted himself very well. He has generally not bowed to pressure from either side, and he is trying to walk a tightrope of demands that is impossible to grant.
He conducted a fair and credible election which was invalidated because of aleged falures of his juniors, and did his duty to country.
I am increasingly convinced that deep inside that funny face is a patriot of steel.
Let’s hope so, but the demos are working as they were perceived to be. Actually it’s a big loss to Kisumu, they will have to rethink. Closing the university ebbed the magnitude of demos
After the elections or no elections, we need to unravel some details, such as who gave Chebukati a fake Form 37C that helped nullify the Presidential result. Hint: it wasn’t Chiloba. Who drafted the two stupid memos that promptly ‘leaked’? If Chebukati is a good-hearted man, why do all these goofy things happen to him?
The only party playing hardball is NASA, every measure IEBC takes is not satisfactory to them. The man is doing a terrible job as the Chairman of the commission, he must stop acting unilaterally, if he falls all the other commissioners fall, his fate is their fate and for that reason he needs to work with them.
It is a tough job and they are going about it like amateurs, the commission has not outlined how they intend to rectify the mistakes cited by the SCOK, they haven’t given a public response of leaked show-cause memo neither have they given a public response to NASA’s irreducable minimums, they are not doing well.
From what? From winner declaration, swearing in and Kenya moving forward?
He already soiled on the country once!
Not again. Kikuyu plus Kalenjin= Kenya/Will of the people of Kenya/Those who matter. We can as well abandon elections and declare them our supreme rulers to the end of time.
You often come across as a reasonable chap so am always bewildered when you utter crap I’d expect from Kibra drunks. SIR, DO YOU KNOW THAT THERE IS NOT A SINGLE FORM 34A THAT WAS DISPUTED. AS IN, NASA COULD NOT SAY, AT POLLING STATION Z, THIS IS THE CORRECT FORM AND THE ONE PRESENTED BY IEBC IS FAKE?
In the fullness of time, the shenanigans of the SC will be exposed. I will be part of that exposure, you can bet on it because I possess a special set of skills that stand me well.
Six years ago, I predicted that the world will expose Ocampo for what he was - a stooge of the Security Council. Now the chickens are coming home to roost…as they will for Maraga.
PS: Nobody has ever advanced the correct theory as to why Uhuru was indicted. It goes back to 1960…a story for another day.
@FieldMarshal CouchP by you likening me to Kibra fellows doesn’t make me one. With your wit, you should have realized my statement is simple; Kikuyu plus Kalenjin make majority in numbers. Since in Kenya numbers make the ruler, another 50 years will easily go by as the presidential seat jumps between the two.
Bank that one…even October 26th is set.
Good analysis, remember the other side is no longer campaigning, their supporters may not turn out in good numbers. The ground has really shifted, the generals has shifted allegiance.
Ambia @GUKA acheze chini
He cannot resolve any issue on his own, decisions of the commission can only be made by the commissioners in a formal meeting, he has no option but to work with all the commissioners. Any other route he takes will hit a dead-end. My main beef is the clear lack of direction, 20 days to go and we do not even know how the IEBC is doing in terms of preparation, not cool at all.
The will of the people is manifested in the majority decision which going by the annuled results included Kenyans of Somali origin. half of nyamira, 120, 000 residents of Bungoma, the people of Kwale, half of the Maa community and many other tribes, the will of the people is clearly not a Kikuyu-Kalenjin or Luo-Luhya-Kamba affair, every Kenyan has the right to make their choice.
