I recently discovered these refurbished lithium batteries online na manze hizi battery zina outperform lead batteries by far. I got a 50ah setup at 7k na kutumia kwa tv ya 32 inch ya 60watts nimeenda nayo for 11 hours straight bila kuzima. Bado niko kwa initial testing but it has outperformed the lead acid battery by far.
Weka link.
The guy reassembles 18650 cells, nilidhani ni mkora nikaanza na 50ah but so far imepitisha expectations zangu. Link Lithium Battery 12v 52ah
How safe are refurbished lithium batteries?
There are lot of DIY community on refurbished lithium. They are very safe if you know how to assemble them.
That’s impressive
I remember tukuweka wires attached to lead na ingine copper into pit latrines eti italeta moto then we connect to a bulb
maths doesnt add up
To determine how long a 50Ah (Amp-hour) battery can power a 60W (Watt) device, we need to follow these steps:
- Calculate the total energy capacity of the battery in watt-hours (Wh).
- Determine the power consumption of the device in watts (W).
- Divide the total energy capacity by the power consumption to find the duration.
Step-by-Step Calculation:
- Convert the battery capacity from Amp-hours to Watt-hours:
- Battery Capacity: 50Ah
- Voltage of Battery: Typically, 12V (assumed unless specified otherwise)
Energy capacity (Wh) = Battery capacity (Ah) × Voltage (V)
Energy capacity (Wh) = 50Ah × 12V = 600Wh
-
Power consumption of the device:
- Power Consumption: 60W
-
Determine the duration (in hours) the battery can power the device:
Duration (hours) = Energy capacity (Wh) / Power consumption (W)
Duration (hours) = 600Wh / 60W = 10 hours
Conclusion:
A 50Ah battery at 12V can power a 60W device for 10 hours.
Assumptions and Considerations:
- The calculation assumes the battery is fully charged and operates at 12V.
- The battery is assumed to discharge at a consistent rate without significant efficiency losses.
- Real-world factors such as battery age, temperature, and efficiency might reduce the actual duration.
It should last 10 hours at full sound and brightness hio ndio 60w
but welcome to the world of lithium batteries
Or explosive if you do not know what your doing
That was what surprised me. Infact the guy told it can power 32’ for 6 hours. Mimi nimefikisha 11hours. I watch it overnight hadi 4am in the morning nikaamua nizime nilale. The battery had dropped to 10.8v. Inverter bado ilikuwa green. I will continue to give more test but so far so good. It is my first lithium battery so ni new tech to me.
The only catch is that I connected the sound to an external speaker ambayo niliconnect kwa stima ya kplc. Probably the tv was running at a lower energy rating. But 11 hours is still above expectation.
Kuna time nilikua na build my own batteries kutumia damaged laptop batteries nilibuild setup ilikua inaeza toa 120v at 125 AH or a 15kw system. could power my house with a single charge 1/2 a day. Lakini nilipoona clips huko youtube zikilepukia watu niliachana na hiyo hobby.
This what a 20kwh setup can look like
(not mine)
So system ilikua almost the same size
Mimi bado sijabuild my own but I was about to order these batteries nijiundie ndio nikaona kuna mtu hapo jiji anauza built one. But I will slowly start pilling these batteries nifikishe atleast 10kwh system
DIY community bado wako kwa 18650. They are cheap and easy to recycle.
Link dead. Could you be knowing his physical location?
